Today’s scripture reading is from the book of Jeremiah:

The word of the Lord came to me, saying,

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew[a] you,

before you were born I set you apart;

I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Jeremiah 1:4-5 (NIV)

This passage of Scripture indicates to us that even before we were formed in our mother’s womb, God had already a plan for our lives.

In Proverbs 16:9 (Amplified Version), it also says that ‘a man’s mind plans his way [as he journeys through life], But the LORD directs his steps and establishes them’.

Whether we be a successful businessman, a doctor, or a king of a country, I don’t think we can claim full credit for every success that we had achieved over this lifetime.

Instead, we should give thanks to God for granting us the success that we have enjoyed, and to ask Him to continue to direct our path, so that we may fulfill everything that He had set out for us in this life.
