Do you tend to dwell on your regrets?
If so, you may like to meditate on Isaiah 43:
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.
Isaiah 43:18-21, NIV
In summary, this passage of Scripture teaches us that it is futile to dwell on the past since God is able to do something new and wonderful in our lives, if we would only allow Him to.
Heavenly Father, I pray for my brothers and sisters who are reading this and who are living in the past and dwelling on their regrets. May they forget the past and look to You instead. Help them to move forward and to place their hope and confidence in You, O God, because You are able to do a new thing for them, what ‘no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him’ (1 Corinthians 2:9). In Jesus name I pray. Amen
